Bio: Karen has been a therapist with the Family Counseling Center for over 25 years. She attended the University of Redlands, then received a B.S. in Psychology/Health Science from Brigham Young University where she also earned both her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) and Master of Social Work (MSW) degrees. As well as being a therapist she also has taught marriage and family relationship classes at Brigham Young University.
She specializes in treating depression, anxiety, the many causes of stress and a variety of mood disorders. She offers therapy for couples, dating relationships, parenting, adopted children, teens, care of aging parents and grief. Her expertise also includes supporting personal goals for weight loss, health improvement, self-esteem, and habit change.
She has pursued advanced training in cognitive therapy, grief therapy, inner child work, hypnosis/hypnotherapy and brief crisis intervention.
Karen’s interests include cooking, gardening, traveling, water sports, economics, geo-political studies, and doing whatever her family is involved with. With her children now launching she is currently engaged in various humanitarian projects in the community. She continues to produce a weekly show at a local radio station.
